Farewell American Girl Grace

I am soooooo sad that Grace will be retiring today.  Her collection is one of my favourite GOTY AG collections of all time.  I like Grace's collection and the doll herself because she likes to cook and bake and I too like to bake up sweet treats! Her outfits are very stylish with a flair of french fashion. Her furniture nicely compliments the Paris theme and vibe of her personality. I love Grace's facial features - especially her blue eyes and freckles and her brown hair with highlights - just like me!  She could actually be a copy of me.  If I had to choose my top 2 items from her collection, I would choose.... Grace's pastry cart and Grace's opening night outfit.

Sad as I am that Grace will be leaving today, I am looking forward to Lea Clark's arrival tomorrow as she debuts as the new GOTY of 2016!  Guess what? Today I got my AG catalogue in the postal mail!  From what I have seen my favourite item is ..... Lea's rainforest house!  Don't worry guys,  tomorrow Lea's whole collection will be available online to purchase and in stores that are actually open on January 1st!  Farewell Grace, today is your last day to shine so enjoy it (we all loved and cherished you).  Well when Lea's out, I might have to go on a shopping spree!  Blog to you later :D

Update On AG GOTY 2016

I have confirmed that the GOTYS name will be...Lea Clark!  I have included some pictures of Lea and some of her clothes/accessories down below.  From the outfits I have seen, my favourite outfit so far would have to be Lea's 2 in 1 swim outfit.  Lea will be available for purchase on January 1st, 2016 and if you are one of the lucky first ones at the American Girl stores on January 1st, 2nd and 3rd, you will receive a giveaway from AG.  I can't wait for Lea to come out in 2016 but aren't you AG fans going to miss Grace??  I know I am going to miss her.  I will be posting a review of Grace in the next fews days as a tribute to 2015.  If you have any questions or requests please comment down below. Blog to you later :D

Breaking News: GOTY 2016 and New Holiday Dress

I found out more information about the new GOTY.  Some possible names are Gabriella, Lea Clark or Gemma but they also might be code names.  Most likely her name will be Lea Clark:)  Her background is a combination of Spanish and Italian.  Her features include long wavy caramel hair, Caroline's blue/green eyes, medium skin (tanned skin), Josephina's face mold.  I can't tell what kind of eyebrows she has. In my research, I found this leaked picture of the 18 inch doll. Also, be on alert that American Girl is coming out with the new limited edition holiday dress for 2015 (see below..LOVE)!

American Girl Of the Year 2005 Marisol Luna

I was sitting here just thinking about what AG was like 10 years ago and I started to smile and images of the GOTY 2005 Marisol Luna filled my thoughts!  Marisol's features include: dark brown eyes, long wavy brown hair, medium skin and the Josephina face mold.  Her meet outfit comes with a pink tank top, a purple wrap top, olive satin cargo pants, olive and magenta Mary Jane shoes (love!), lavender underwear, pink/purple crocheted hat, multi colour crocheted scarf, flower pendant necklace and sticker earrings.  Marisol's story takes place in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA in the 2000's and in her story she is 10 years old.  The young latina Marisol loves to dance in her original hometown in Pilsen, Illinois but then she hears the sad news that the family is moving to Des Plaines. The worst part of the move... they have no dance studio there.  Marisol is determined to find away on how she can keep on dancing.  Marisol is a very rare doll in American Girl's inventory.  I like Marisol because her outfits and her look is just flawless and on top of that she has a lot of features and hobbies that are very similar mine.  If I had to choose my favourite outfit from her collection, I would choose her Tap Outfit  It is just so sparkly and pink).

Every year I end up falling in love with the GOTY but then when she retires at year's end, I get so sad. Why does American Girl have to retire them?  I know, I know, they become collectibles for that very reason!  She is definitely a doll I wish was in my collection.

SNEAK PEEK: American Girl GOTY 2016

This is a picture of what the GOTY 2016 mini doll will look like!  It is a good indicator of what the full 18 inch version will resemble.

Don't you think that she looks almost like McKenna (GOTY 2012), a shade of  blonde hair, blue eyes?  Her skin color does look a little darker then McKenna's.

My Favourite School Item From AG

I love all the AG school items but if I had to choose which one is my favourite, I would probably choose.... The School Desk Set For Dolls (that is now retired from AG). The School Desk Set is my favourite because it looks just like a real desk and I love how it comes with a math textbook because I love math.

If I am in a creative mood and looking to add school supplies for my doll that does not cost a lot,  I just made my own supplies!  So who likes to create stuff for their dolls?  If you do, these crafts are perfect for you.  These crafts are on: How to make notebook and pencil for your doll. Some things that you need:
1) lined paper
2) cardboard
3) scissors
4) markers/ pencil crayons/ crayons
5) string or you can use pipe cleaners or yarn
6) hole puncher
7) tooth pick

Notebook:
First you have to decide what size you want to make your notebook, then you are going to cut the cardboard as big as you want. Next you fold your piece of cardboard in half to make the base of the notebook.  Hole punch 2 holes near the folded ends (near middle spine) of the cardboard.  Now it is time to make the pages, so you are going to cut pieces of papers that are a little smaller than the folded size of the cardboard base and then you are going to hole punch 2 holes on both ends of the papers.  Assemble the papers inside the folded cardboard ensuring the the punch holed areas line up. Use your string to tie the paper and the cardboard together by looping through the punched holed areas.  Secure the string with a knot.  Finally it's time to design the cover and decorate however you want!

Pencil:
First you are going to want to get a tooth pick and make sure that one end of it is flat and then the other end is pointy.  Now your going to colour the flat end pink, then your going to colour the pointy end black and finally you are going to colour the whole middle area of the pencil yellow.

Our American Girl Place Boston Visit

As soon as Julie and I arrived at the airport in Boston, we knew our first stop would have to be the American Girl Place.  We arrived early prior to the doors opening to make sure we were the first ones there.  I had a blast with Julie!  I loved all the new items AG had but 1 outfit caught my eye and it was...... Julie's Mix-Print Maxi Dress outfit (includes headband, bracelet, necklace, dress and sandals). I just had to buy it! I have included pictures of Julie in her new outfit down below.
I also said to myself before I went into the store, that I had to purchase at least one of Caroline's (Beforever Doll) outfits before she retires....... I decided to go with Caroline's Travel Outfit.  It will fit nicely with my collection.
In addition, I got to see alot of the new lines of BeForever doll clothing and furniture.  Some new stuff I like better than the old but there were many instances where the former lines are far better in my opinion. For example, I am a huge fan of Julie's line but I have to say... Julie's new bed and PJ's are no match to her former bed and PJ's.  Her original collection is much better.  I think some of the new BeForever collections are a little too modern for the time periods they are to represent.
It was my first time at the AG store in Boston and it was a great experience and the Costumer Service Representative (CSR) was really nice. The store was a little smaller then some of the other AG Place stores that I visited.  Blog to you later:D

Welcoming Grace

Let's all welcome the newest member of the family....Grace Thomas GOTY 2015!  Grace loves to bake up delicious treats all the time.  If she's not baking, then she is usually on the soccer field or playing on the volleyball court.  Grace has a dog named Cookie.  Grace loves to have a variety of braid styles in her hair including: a french braid, a waterfall braid, a fishtail braid and any kind of braid hairstyle you can think of creating.  I have added a picture of Grace with a crazy braid hairstyle down below for you to see.  Have any of you AG fans out there heard of "Grace Stirs Up Success" the movie?  I have not yet seen it but I am going to get the DVD  to watch because I missed the premiere on TV.  She is doll #7 for me.  I chose to add Grace to my doll collection because she has some of the same features as me.  I, too,  have gotten in to baking a little so she might be able to guide me with some tips along the way.  I do have to let you in on a little secret... at first Isabelle and her didn't get along when Grace arrived.  Guess what though...Grace never gave up and now Isabelle and her are like best friends.

This is Grace in Saige's(GOTY 2013) meet dress with her new dog Cookie.

AG EMERGENCY!!!

This weekend, Emma hurt her left foot while she was doing gymnastics.  She was practicing the move called the back walkover (imagine you go into your bridge and then you kick your legs over one at a time).  Her foot was bleeding on the side near baby toe and it looked like it is swollen.  So I decided to bring her to the urgent care clinic to have it examined right away!!!!  I had to make sure she did not further injure the foot because you never know what could happen and she could possibly miss her swimming competition scheduled next week.

The prognosis? A sprained toe.  The doctor at the urgent care clinic recommended to use the foot cast and crutches from the feel better kit from AG. It comes crutches, a cast for the foot, a cast for the arm, ice pack, a bandage and stickers. You can see the complete set in the picture down below.  So, I took the recommendation from the doctor to ensure that Emma would not apply further pressure on her toe so we could speed the healing process.  I figure 7 days would be okay to wear and she would be healed by the time her swimming competition would take place next week on Friday.  Now just in case you don't have the feel better kit from AG and need a foot cast immediately, don't worry.  Here's an alternative:   you can just use a paper tube from a toilet paper roll and then just put masking tape around it. Voila!

If you have any ideas on what I can blog about next, then you can just comment down below. Blog to you later :)

American Girl Gymnastics Time!

Today I am going to be talking about AG gymnastics!  Now if your dolls want to do gymnastics but you don't have any gymnastics leotards, then you can just use a tank top and shorts or if you have a swimsuit for your doll, you can just use that. I have a gymnastics leotard for my doll the but I don't always use it.  I like to mix my outfits up to create variety.  I also like to use some of the American Girl of Year 2014 Isabelle's outfits.  My favorite one is the Isabelle's crop top and her scrunch pants.

If  don't have gymnastics' equipment for your doll either, then you can just create it!  I made a beam with 1 piece of long cardboard in rectangular shape (a little longer in length than the height of an American girl doll).  The floor mats I made out of blankets on the floor.  Use your own imagination and create your own equipment.  There are endless possibilities!  I have a lot of fun doing gymnastics with my dolls!  In the picture down below there is a retired gymnastics set from American Girl.  It comes with a green scrunchy, a pink, green and white leotard, a pink mat, a rhythm ball, a ribbon, a hoola-hoop and a Fantastic Gymnastics book.   I personally love to do gymnastics. My friends and I like to create new routines at school. Why don't you try your hand at creating routines with your friends if you haven't already?

 Blog to you later:)

Mckenna GOTY 2012

Today I am going to be talking about Mckenna Brooks -  GOTY 2012.  Mckenna is a gymnast from Shooting Stars Gymnastics.  She has caramel hair, blue eyes, light skin, feathered eyebrows and the Josephina face mold.  She is one of my favorite GOTYS because she was the GOTY of the year when I got my first AG doll.  I also just love her outfits and her accessories! To boot, she is just so pretty!  In her story, she has trouble with her school work which in turn starts to negatively affect her gymnastics.  Her best friend Toulane and her have a fight.  But worst of all, she falls during her gymnastics meet and breaks her leg.  Will she be able to fix all of this?

Below is a  picture of Mckenna in her meet outfit (teal and grey colored top, teal leggings, purple flats with teal straps and a waterfall ponytail),  her accessories (gynmastics bag, id card) and her gymnastics set.  I hope you AG fans enjoyed this blog about Mckenna GOTY 2012.  My next blog will be about AG Dance! Blog to you soon!

New African American Girl Doll?

One of my searches revealed the following...American Girl's Facebook page indicates that in 2016, there will be a new African American Doll released.

The last African American doll that was created by American Girl was in 2011 and her name was Cecile.  Cecile was the companion of Marie-Grace and their story was based in the 1850's in New Orleans.  Unfortunately, with the launch of the new BeForever line in the summer of 2014, both characters were discontinued.

Check out the post directly from the source - American Girl.  This is exciting news!

https://www.facebook.com/americangirl/posts/845204648856030:0

American Girl Monique, we are proud to feature one of the most inclusive and diverse selections of dolls today, and we look forward to creating new products that celebrate girls’ countless unique qualities in the future. We have two African-American characters in our historical line and are pleased to share that we have exciting plans for another new African-American BeForever character in 2016. Stay tuned for more details!

My First American Girl Doll!

My. First.  American Girl Doll.  I found out about American Girl in 2011.  After begging and begging my parents, they surprised me in 2012 on our visit to American Girl Place in LA.  I did not know who to choose??  I was going to get Mckenna which was the GOTY 2012 at that time but then my eyes were drawn to the  My American Girl dolls section. When I was looking at the My American Girl dolls, I fell in love with My American Girl #23.  She was the one.  It was official!  I was getting my first american girl doll and she was going to be My AG  #23 but I had not chosen a name yet. Hmmm...I thought about for a while and then it came to me.  Emma. Her name would be Emma.

Now that I have 6 American Girl dolls, everyone asks me, do you have a favorite?  Most people that have more than 1 one doll, would naturally say they love them all.  I too love them all but the truth for me... I do have a favorite.  It will always be Emma.  Emma's talents are swimming, art, dance and hair styling.  Emma has her ears pierced just like mine:)  Emma has pencil eyebrows, light skin, blue eyes, freckles, the classical face mold and pretty brown wavy hair.  What a doll!  If your are looking for a new addition to your American Girl doll family, then I highly recommend My American Girl #23 (Emma to me). In the picture down below, you will see Emma in her purple elephant t-shirt made by yours truly, green shorts and has a fancy side bun in her hair.

I hoped you loved learning about Emma. Who is your favorite doll?

World Wide Saige Day!

Its official!  March 1st is World Wide Saige Day (at least in my world)!  I got the Girl of The Year 2013 Saige.  I saved up enough money and I took the plunge to get her.  Speaking of taking the plunge, her main talent is swimming, with a speciality in diving.  She also has a talent for art and loves to write stories.  Saige also loves puppies.  She might get a puppy soon but for now she is still thinking of a name.  I lovveee Saige's hair - it is just so much fun to style.  Any outfit you dress Saige in, she just looks amazing and cute in it!  Check out the pic below as she rocks a pink AG side-tie shirt, grey skirt, headband and her brown boots that came with her meet outfit.  Her favorite colors are turquoise and hot pink (just like her bow on the headband).  Her and Emma get along so well its like they are besties :)  Well I have to go now because the girls need their hair done, so I guess I will blog to you later:),

G'day Mate!

I was talking to my dolls and they said they would like to go on a vacation.  They all had different ideas but finally we decided on Australia. Everyone was packing at the same time. It was so chaotic with all the girls running around to get their stuff. We were on the plane and it was nice except all the noise the girls were making, I'm surprised we didn't get kicked off the plane.  We were at the hotel and our room was incredible but my favorite part was the view of the beach.  I think the girls just liked jumping on the bed.  After we unpacked our suitcases and finally settled in, I realised it was almost time for dinner. We quickly changed into our "vacation" clothes (summer wear) and went down to the hotel restaurant.  We all decided to order pizza, cesar salad and garlic bread (Caroline's pick!).  We ate so fast...I guess we were hungry after the long flight.  The restaurant service was also really good there.  When we got back to the hotel room, the girls were tired so we all went to bed.

The next day we went to the beach but only Emma, Kanani and Isabelle went in the water.  Julie and Caroline just played in the sand.  After we took showers at the hotel, we went headed off to our scheduled safari adventure down under.  We saw so many animals like koala bears, zebras and tigers.  Kanani was loving it because she is a huge fan of animals!  At the end of the day, we all went to bed early as we were so tired.  The next day,  we went to a Australian themed party at the beach.   The host dancers called all the kids up to participate on stage but none of my girls wanted to go.  Then, all of a sudden, I saw Isabelle dancing and I think she might of stole the spotlight! Wow! She has got some great moves. The rest of the day, we just lounged on the beach and relaxed.   After all that fun in the sun, the girls fell a sleep right away once we got back to the hotel room.  For the next couple of days, we toured Sydney and just loved it!

It was now our last day but the girls were sad!  They didn't want to leave and go back to the cold wintery weather just yet.  The truth is...I didn't want to leave either.  We headed to the beach for our last blast of fun.  You will never guess what was the daily activity on the beach!?!?!?  It was Hawaiian theme day and there was a luau!  Awesome! It was so much fun and Kanani was overjoyed!

After the long flight back home, we got off the plane and were back to the snowy weather.  Once we arrived home, the girls just headed inside and went straight to bed.  They just couldn't deal with the weather change so fast.  They wanted to keep the memories of Australia alive as long as possible even if some of the memories were really only dreams :)

My Favourite American Girl Snow Outfit

As I sit here looking out my window at the snow falling, I think about American Girl and what I wish my doll could wear outside in the snow.....
If I had to choose my favourite AG snow outfit it would probably be...the snowy chic outfit.  I chose the snowy chic outfit because it looks so cozy for your doll and it is pink!  It is a retired outfit from American Girl.  Even though I do not have this outfit, it is still my favourite AG outfit.  I have posted a photo down below(modelled by My American Girl Doll #28) so you can see what the outfit looks like. The outfit comes with a pink winter hat with pom poms, pink mittens with fur trim, white furry boots with a pink bow, a white jumper that zips at the neck with a pink belt and a pink unitard.  I have a question for you, what is your favourite AG snow outfit?

If you have any suggestions on what I should write about next, you can just comment it down below.  Blog to you later :)

Doesn't it look so cozy!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Happy Valentine's Day to all the AG fans!  Today I have received this cute AG Summer Isle outfit and the accessories as a gift.  Isabelle was begging me to try it on and eventually I gave in and let her. Here is a picture of  Isabelle and the outfit.  She was so overjoyed that she did the splits!  I think this outfit suits Isabelle so well with her flowing caramel/blondish hair and hazel eyes.

I have posted a couple of my favorites for you right here!  The first one is Rebecca sporting a purple, pink and white outfit.  So cute!  The second one features Julie with her sporty skateboarding outfit.  I would of thought that Julie would have had a roller skating outfit instead because in her book, it says that she liked roller skating.  Maybe a new hobby for her!

Enjoy!

Saige vs My AG #61

A lot of people say that My AG #61 looks like Saige GOTY 2013, but she does not.  I have done some research and I have found 3 pictures that I have included below.

Saige has the classic face mold, feather eyebrows, blue eyes, dark red curly hair, light skin and freckles. She was the GOTY 2013 but she is now retired. #61 has the Sonali face mold (BFF of GOTY 2009 Chrissa), feather eyebrows, green eyes, red/orange curly hair and light skin.  She is a new My AG doll that was released summer 2014.
Everyone thinks that they have the same hair colour but they don't!  There are actually many different kinds of red hair. In the third picture below,(from agoverseasfan) you will see the dolls hair colour side by side.
As for the face molds, they don't have the same face molds.  There are actually 8 different kinds of face molds for AG dolls. Saige has a classic face mold that came out in 2008 and My AG doll #61 has the Sonali  face mold that came out in 2009.
Green eyes, blue eyes!  Saige has blue and My AG doll #61 has green.
Saige has freckles and My AG doll #61 does not.

After this comparison, do you think they look the same? I do not think they look the same!

This Or That?

These are 2 pictures of Kanani in 2 different AG outfits.  In the first picture, Kanani is dressed for the wintery weather. She is wearing the winter white outfit that has earmuffs, a vest, a shirt, shorts, tights and boots. In the second picture, Kanani is ready for the summer weather of Hawaii and the warm surfing waters.  Kanani is on her paddle board and wearing her one piece swimsuit with her swim shorts.  I have a question for you, would you rather be dressed for winter or summer?  I would rather be dressed for summer and enjoying the beaches of Hawaii. I loveeeee to swim! In the summer picture, you will notice that Kanani's hair is pulled back from her face. I braided her hair and I added her flower clip.
I love taking Kanani to different places like to birthday parties and to the American Girl store.  She is awesome and so much fun to play with!

Vacation In Hawaii With Kanani

Its cold outside so I was just dreaming of me in Hawaii. Then it came to me... a blast from the past... Kanani!  The GOTY 2011, she is soooo pretty.  I wanted her for like 2 or 3 years and then a miracle happened.  My mom managed to get her for me. She has hazel eyes, brown long wavy hair and medium skin. Her hair is a little hard to care for sometimes though. She is obviously from Hawaii. One day I will get to Hawaii I tell you. When I do, I will bring Kanani :)  I will post more on Kanani later this week.  For now, I will leave you with the image of a cool island breeze and the warm waters of Hawaii...

American Girl Place!!!

I had so much fun at American Girl Place celebrating the launch of the GOTY2015 Grace Thomas.  When I went, they where handing out grace doll aprons and I got one! They put everyone in groups so me and my friend were in group 2.  I brought Isabelle with me but she was not happy.  She was sad that AG replaced her so it was hard getting her to take a picture but I finally did.  Grace's collection is really nice but her big cafe is too much money.  AG priced it at $500.  I think that's really high don't you?  Grace's outfits are too cute.  I absolutely love her city outfit! I call Grace's city outfit her Valentine's Day outfit.  I think the bistro set is nice but I think it should come with two chairs instead of one so then 2 dolls can eat together. I love the apron it looks great on my dolls!  Here are some pictures of Grace's collection!
