Farewell American Girl Grace

I am soooooo sad that Grace will be retiring today.  Her collection is one of my favourite GOTY AG collections of all time.  I like Grace's collection and the doll herself because she likes to cook and bake and I too like to bake up sweet treats! Her outfits are very stylish with a flair of french fashion. Her furniture nicely compliments the Paris theme and vibe of her personality. I love Grace's facial features - especially her blue eyes and freckles and her brown hair with highlights - just like me!  She could actually be a copy of me.  If I had to choose my top 2 items from her collection, I would choose.... Grace's pastry cart and Grace's opening night outfit.

Sad as I am that Grace will be leaving today, I am looking forward to Lea Clark's arrival tomorrow as she debuts as the new GOTY of 2016!  Guess what? Today I got my AG catalogue in the postal mail!  From what I have seen my favourite item is ..... Lea's rainforest house!  Don't worry guys,  tomorrow Lea's whole collection will be available online to purchase and in stores that are actually open on January 1st!  Farewell Grace, today is your last day to shine so enjoy it (we all loved and cherished you).  Well when Lea's out, I might have to go on a shopping spree!  Blog to you later :D

Update On AG GOTY 2016

I have confirmed that the GOTYS name will be...Lea Clark!  I have included some pictures of Lea and some of her clothes/accessories down below.  From the outfits I have seen, my favourite outfit so far would have to be Lea's 2 in 1 swim outfit.  Lea will be available for purchase on January 1st, 2016 and if you are one of the lucky first ones at the American Girl stores on January 1st, 2nd and 3rd, you will receive a giveaway from AG.  I can't wait for Lea to come out in 2016 but aren't you AG fans going to miss Grace??  I know I am going to miss her.  I will be posting a review of Grace in the next fews days as a tribute to 2015.  If you have any questions or requests please comment down below. Blog to you later :D

Breaking News: GOTY 2016 and New Holiday Dress

I found out more information about the new GOTY.  Some possible names are Gabriella, Lea Clark or Gemma but they also might be code names.  Most likely her name will be Lea Clark:)  Her background is a combination of Spanish and Italian.  Her features include long wavy caramel hair, Caroline's blue/green eyes, medium skin (tanned skin), Josephina's face mold.  I can't tell what kind of eyebrows she has. In my research, I found this leaked picture of the 18 inch doll. Also, be on alert that American Girl is coming out with the new limited edition holiday dress for 2015 (see below..LOVE)!

American Girl Of the Year 2005 Marisol Luna

I was sitting here just thinking about what AG was like 10 years ago and I started to smile and images of the GOTY 2005 Marisol Luna filled my thoughts!  Marisol's features include: dark brown eyes, long wavy brown hair, medium skin and the Josephina face mold.  Her meet outfit comes with a pink tank top, a purple wrap top, olive satin cargo pants, olive and magenta Mary Jane shoes (love!), lavender underwear, pink/purple crocheted hat, multi colour crocheted scarf, flower pendant necklace and sticker earrings.  Marisol's story takes place in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA in the 2000's and in her story she is 10 years old.  The young latina Marisol loves to dance in her original hometown in Pilsen, Illinois but then she hears the sad news that the family is moving to Des Plaines. The worst part of the move... they have no dance studio there.  Marisol is determined to find away on how she can keep on dancing.  Marisol is a very rare doll in American Girl's inventory.  I like Marisol because her outfits and her look is just flawless and on top of that she has a lot of features and hobbies that are very similar mine.  If I had to choose my favourite outfit from her collection, I would choose her Tap Outfit  It is just so sparkly and pink).

Every year I end up falling in love with the GOTY but then when she retires at year's end, I get so sad. Why does American Girl have to retire them?  I know, I know, they become collectibles for that very reason!  She is definitely a doll I wish was in my collection.

SNEAK PEEK: American Girl GOTY 2016

This is a picture of what the GOTY 2016 mini doll will look like!  It is a good indicator of what the full 18 inch version will resemble.

Don't you think that she looks almost like McKenna (GOTY 2012), a shade of  blonde hair, blue eyes?  Her skin color does look a little darker then McKenna's.

My Favourite School Item From AG

I love all the AG school items but if I had to choose which one is my favourite, I would probably choose.... The School Desk Set For Dolls (that is now retired from AG). The School Desk Set is my favourite because it looks just like a real desk and I love how it comes with a math textbook because I love math.

If I am in a creative mood and looking to add school supplies for my doll that does not cost a lot,  I just made my own supplies!  So who likes to create stuff for their dolls?  If you do, these crafts are perfect for you.  These crafts are on: How to make notebook and pencil for your doll. Some things that you need:
1) lined paper
2) cardboard
3) scissors
4) markers/ pencil crayons/ crayons
5) string or you can use pipe cleaners or yarn
6) hole puncher
7) tooth pick

Notebook:
First you have to decide what size you want to make your notebook, then you are going to cut the cardboard as big as you want. Next you fold your piece of cardboard in half to make the base of the notebook.  Hole punch 2 holes near the folded ends (near middle spine) of the cardboard.  Now it is time to make the pages, so you are going to cut pieces of papers that are a little smaller than the folded size of the cardboard base and then you are going to hole punch 2 holes on both ends of the papers.  Assemble the papers inside the folded cardboard ensuring the the punch holed areas line up. Use your string to tie the paper and the cardboard together by looping through the punched holed areas.  Secure the string with a knot.  Finally it's time to design the cover and decorate however you want!

Pencil:
First you are going to want to get a tooth pick and make sure that one end of it is flat and then the other end is pointy.  Now your going to colour the flat end pink, then your going to colour the pointy end black and finally you are going to colour the whole middle area of the pencil yellow.
